PORTRAIT INFORMATION AND PROCEDURE A hand-painted portrait is meant to last for hundreds of years. In order to create this type of art, I use the highest quality Belguim linen, archival papers and paints that are available today. The first step is for me to familiarize myself with the subject and to gather information about the portrait. We discuss where the portrait will be hung, size, format, setting, clothing, mood, personal objects and other aspects so that the subject can be photographed in the best possible way. I paint only from my own photographs. At this time, an agreement is signed by both parties. The second step is when I travel to the client's location to take photographs. I prefers to visit the subject in their home or office. The subject may be asked to sit for a short period of time. Sketches will done at this time. After the photo session, I decide which pose I believe will be the most pleasing and a photograph will be sent to the client for approval. My goal is to capture not only a likeness but to produce a wonderful work of art. There is nothing like having a painted portrait that is done with skill and sensitivity for generations to enjoy.
